US government suit against UPMC and star surgeon moves forward
Pittsburgh, PA (July 7, 2022) - Today marked a major step forward in an explosive whistleblower lawsuit against University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, its physicians group, and the longtime head of its Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery. U.S. District Court Judge Cathy Bissoon denied the hospital’s efforts to get a false-billing case that alleges patient harm dismissed. Whistleblower suit against UPMC, physician group will proceed, judge rules
(July 8, 2022) - A federal judge rejected the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's bid to dismiss a whistleblower lawsuit against UPMC, its physicians group and its chair of cardiothoracic surgery, NBC affiliate WPXI reported July 7.
